Digital Ecosystem Optimization for a Global Cultural Event
Context. Pride Amsterdam is one of the largest LGBTQ+ cultural events in the world, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors and coordinating hundreds of events across the city. The organization needed modern digital infrastructure for accessibility, multilingual communication, and a growing partner ecosystem.
Challenge. The existing setup depended heavily on external vendors and expensive agency proposals, while still creating long-term dependency.
- High website redevelopment costs
- Accessibility (WCAG) implementation budget pressure
- Multilingual publishing complexity across multiple languages
- Limited flexibility and high reliance on agencies
Strategy. The ecosystem was redesigned for vendor independence, AI-driven workflows, future-proof architecture, and internal knowledge leverage. A modular website architecture was implemented, AI-based translation replaced expensive manual processes, and accessibility was embedded directly in the development workflow.
Results
- ~60% lower website delivery costs
- ~75% lower accessibility implementation costs
- ~95% lower multilingual publishing costs
- €100k+ total cost reduction
Beyond cost savings, Pride Amsterdam now operates a future-proof platform that supports year-round relevance, including city-wide calendars and strategic partnerships with the City of Amsterdam.
